162 As the Mood Commands
6"x6" acrylic on paper - $100
Happy November! I can hardly believe that there are only two months left in the year. How can that be?!
Looking back on my goals for the year, as I do every month to stay on track and update as needed, I am happy to say that I stuck to my One Little Word of "create."
This year I CREATED more than I ever imagined!
That's not to say there weren't hard parts (there were!) but I stuck those out and am still painting. I got to know myself a little better so hopefully next time the rough times come it will be a wee bit easier. I'll have to keep ya posted on that one. I'd still like to handle crises of confidence and blocks a whole lot better but I'd like to think I'll be more prepared next time around!
That's not to say that I painted all that I wanted (because I didn't) or liked everything I made (I didn't! Ha!). There were many days I didn't complete a small painting and wanted to work on larger works that would take more time. For those days my goal was to paint every day, but not necessarily finish a complete painting every day. Looking back, I wish I had stuck to small, complete paintings more because I think I learn more that way and progress more quickly and can move on but I remind myself that it's all good. I'm still creating and I'm learning more about what works best and how sometimes I like to change things up to keep things interesting, new, and different! I sometimes need to do something different even if it doesn't turn out as hoped.
Did you have a focus this year or a One Little Word? If so, how are you doing with yours? What did you learn? How have you grown?
